Light Speed showed improvement from his debut sixth when winning at Newcastle and as he ran on well over the seven furlongs there, the mile plus may see improvement. LENORMAND is a risky selection after an absence of over 14 months and has clearly had his issues, but Godolphin persevere with the son of Dubawi, who has been gelded since winning at Newmarket in a race that has worked out well. If he is ready then he may prove too good for these, with Running Star the best of the rest with any racecourse experience.

With a lack of form to work with it may pay to side with PICKWELL, third on his debut over C&D earlier this month. Slowly away that day before pulling hard, the Harry Angel gelding can only learn from that experience and that might be all he needs. Graceful Mary ran on well after failing to get a run at the furlong pole at Chelmsford and is the obvious danger, while newcomer Inner Temple looks the part on paper and is one to watch for future contests.

LYNWOOD LAD found a return to 6f to his liking when opening his account at Kempton recently and the three-year-old must hold every chance of going in again off only 1lb higher. Peachey Carnehan stayed on into second that day and the gelded son of Foxwedge is an obvious threat racing off the same rating. Second Collection was runner-up over 5f here last month and a similar performance is likely to see Tony Carroll's mare in the shake-up.

BERNIE THE BEAR posted a career-best performance when landing the spoils over this trip at Newcastle a fortnight ago and a 2lb nudge in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold bid from Richard Fahey's gelding. Last month's C&D second Coast was collared in the shadows of the post and the daughter of Aclaim may serve the most resistance to the selection racing off just 1lb higher, ahead of One For The Ladies.

STARFIGHTER almost defied a 5lb rise in the ratings for a victory in September here when finishing a close-up third over the same C&D last month. The form of that contest looks the strongest on offer and Mark Loughnane's gelding may return to the winner's enclosure. Mistress Light has been in fair form on the turf of late and she rates an obvious threat if proving as effective on her all-weather debut. Savvy Brilliance is relatively unexposed in this sphere and cannot be dismissed either.

Gincident arrives with a good record here after two wins from three starts, but both were over further and the latest when racing off 8lb lower in February. He can go well on his first start after being gelded, but CAPITAL GUARANTEE is preferred. He ran too badly to be true when last seen at Newmarket, but had won his previous three starts over this trip since joining David O'Meara and may be worth another chance. Johnny James is also worthy of consideration, though he will need to find more in this better company.

INTOXICATA has to carry a 6lb penalty after winning easily at Lingfield last time and this might be her last run in this grade. She won with enough in hand to suggest she can land her hat-trick now under Rossa Ryan, who won on her last month. Zakram was only beaten a neck off this mark at Lingfield last week and is another to take seriously, leaving Twilight Jazz and Kalama Sunrise to battle it out for third.

Let's Go Hugo won here last time out over C&D, but he has an extra 4lb from the handicapper now and has been beaten off similar marks in recent months. He could still get involved, but a chance is taken on DARK SIDE PRINCE. A 5f specialist, he has won seven times over the trip with two of them here, and the drop in class is a bonus. Sixcor seems best of the rest after his Newcastle third.
