Architect Tips shares Tote Placepot tips for Wednesday's action at Kempton and yesterday's Placepot results from Wolverhampton.

Leg 1 Selections: Engineer
There are plenty of names to consider in the opener, but ENGINEER is the one to beat, judged on his easy Wolverhampton success last time. He went very close to scoring over track and trip on his debut when he was a fast-finishing third. The form has worked out very well, and he was never going to be caught in his victory last time. He can get favourite backers off to the perfect start.

Leg 2 Selections: Birkie Boy, Ludberg, Hearitfortheboys
BIRKIE BOY is the only last-time-out winner in the field, and although she has more on her plate in this contest, she should go well. At a big price, I’ll include LUDBERG, who made late gains to take fourth last time and is feared. The grade-dropping HEARITFORTHEBOYS is another to note and should be included, having tackled stronger opposition to date.

Leg 3 Selections: Sea La Venus, Frightening
SEA LA VENUS has the widest draw to overcome, which is far from ideal, but he is another runner on the card who merits consideration, given her pedigree. Ralph Beckett runs two, with preference for FRIGHTENING, who shaped well on debut when third at Nottingham. She has more to come and can make her presence felt.

Leg 4 Selections: Candle Wax, Lyric
Musical Act won nicely here over the summer, but he is up against some very appealing debutants, such as CANDLE WAX. He is very well-bred, and any market support would increase his chances. LYRIC has a difficult draw to overcome, but is another one for consideration given who trains him. Hopefully one of these two can make the frame or better.

Leg 5 Selections: Cambria Legend, Matsuri, Sword
CAMBRIA LEGEND outperformed his 100/1 odds when sixth of 12 on debut at Newmarket, and despite a wide draw, he should progress. The one to beat, however, is MATSURI, who came close to making a winning debut at Salisbury when beaten a short head and has plenty more to come. SWORD is a very interesting newcomer, given how expensive he was, and could be competitive.

Leg 6 Selections: Granary Queen, Epic Express
Despite pulling hard, GRANARY QUEEN returned to form when she finished fourth at Wolverhampton last time and finished a close-up third over C&D back in September off a 4Ib higher mark. She should be competitive from a favourable low draw in stall 3. EPIC EXPRESS did well to take fourth over C&D last time after being hampered 1f out, and this course winner is a serious player.
