MAVERICK STYLE was finishing her race very strongly when fifth of 12 on his first crack at this level over C&D last-time-out, and from a 2Ib lower mark, she should be competitive. I also want to feature MONTECRISTO GOLD in the shortlist, who fared the best of those held-up when third here last time and is 1Ib lower for this contest

Leg 2 Selections: Rochelle

There was a lot to like about the performance of ROCHELLE on her debut at Newmarket, who finished a close-up third in what was a pretty strong race for the grade. She must have loads more to come down in class and can take care of this field with James Doyle retained to ride. Banker.

Leg 3 Selections: Moon Flight, Rogue Thunder 

MOON FLIGHT has been runner-up three times in six starts and came within half-a-length of success at Newcastle last time. He is a danger to all in this field. ROGUE THUNDER has shaped promisingly in all three starts, finishing fourth in each, and has undergone wind surgery since he was last spotted, so he could improve enough to open his account.

Leg 4 Selections: Revolutionise, Hot Chesnut 

REVOLUTIONISE has an absence to overcome, but was in good form earlier this year and was beaten just three parts of a length when second over C&D off this mark in his latest start. He goes well when fresh and is a solid option for placepot inclusion. HOT CHESNUT won over C&D last June and caught the eye in a deeper race on the turf last time when fourth. She should be ready to run a big race.

Leg 5 Selections: Brazen Arrow, Last Date 

BRAZEN ARROW could offer a spot of value, who ran well to take third over C&D last time and is 1Ib below his last winning mark. He has made the frame in his last three starts here, so he can plant himself in the reckoning. LAST DATE won over C&D last year off an 8Ib higher mark and has also been thereabouts in his last three starts here, so he is another I want on my ticket.

Leg 6 Selections: Adace, Outreach

This mark isn’t beyond ADACE who won off this mark at Kempton two years ago and hit the line strongly at this course last time when she was third. She must be considered one of the leading players, while OUTREACH remains on the same mark as when second at Wolverhampton last time and has more to come than most.
