I thought there was lots to like about the way AFTA PARTY won at Newton Abbot last month. She left previous form behind to make a winning start for this yard and now she has her head in front over hurdles it would be no surprise to see her kick on. She made all on that occasion and stayed on strongly to fend off another useful type in Roger Pol with the pair clear. She has to give weight away here but does look quite promising. Duhallow Tommy has shown definite promise and if improving again could emerge as the danger. Don’t rule out Atreides either though as he is lightly raced and could get competitive if handling the quick turnaround.

Hopefully IMPRESSION CHIC is the one to beat here. She ran poorly at Worcester but quickly brushed that effort aside to win gamely on chase debut at Fontwell last month and she did very little wrong missing only narrowly at Musselburgh last time. She is obviously unexposed over fences and off just a 2lb higher mark is expected to get back to winning ways. The step up in trip will likely help as she likes to be ridden patiently and Jonjo O’Neill Junior getting in the saddle is a big positive as well. Auditoria is pretty consistent and she has plenty of experience on side so looks the danger. Spitfire Girl still has potential and is another one to note.
