Despite easing in the betting this morning I still think FIRE DANCER is going to go close here. He made all on chase debut and on first start for this yard to defy a monster layoff at Ludlow at the start of the year. Things didn’t go to plan after that pulling up behind Stage Star at Cheltenham and then falling at Ludlow but he still has potential and given time and a wind op since last seen he could be well handicapped off a mark of 118. Venetia Williams is in great form and this horse should give a very good account. Your Darling goes well at this track and has been backed into favouritism so looks the likely danger. Copperhead is also interesting but he has a bit to prove at the same time.

The hat-trick seeking ART FANTASTIQUE looks good value here. This son of Harry Angel has done nothing but improve since sent handicapping winning cosily at Windsor and then following up with a bit in hand again at Brighton. That form has been franked since with the second Line Of Fire winning at Brighton. The third Birkie Boy has won at Brighton too and the fifth Zachary has won twice at Chelmsford so it stacks up. He has been freshened up and now trying the AW could still have more to come. Gloves is unexposed and with the step up in trip likely to suit she could be the danger. Chapman was a very good second at Lingfield and is another one that must enter calculations.
