I know it wasn’t the toughest of starts for BOWENSPARK over hurdles at Stratford but I was impressed with how he went and got the job done. He fairly coasted home to win by 11 lengths and with that under his belt he could have plenty of improvement to come now. He will need to step forward to take this but I’m keen to keep him on side for now. There is quite a bit of pace on so I think Primoz might get taken on for the lead which would be a help to the selection. If that does happen then Kamsinas might be the main danger. He bolted up at Worcester on hurdles debut and then bumped into Lookaway at Cheltenham last month and that form has obviously been well advertised since.

With a clear round of jumping I’m expecting HA D’OR to be hard to beat in this. He took a tumble on final start at this track but was still moving quite well at the time and a mark of 142 should be within reach. He has only had a handful of starts and still retains a fair bit of potential. Willie Mullins is in great form as well operating at a 30% strike rate in the past fortnight. Mars Harper impressed winning readily at Listowel on return and shouldn’t be too harshly judged on his run last time as that came in a fiercely competitive renewal of the Munster National. These are calmer waters and he looks the biggest danger. Walk Away is lightly raced for his age and is another one that could get competitive if jumping better.
