Leg 1 Selections: Salver, Authoceltic

SALVER was down the field in his sole flat start in July in Italy, but overcame inexperience and a few mistakes to make a winning hurdles debut and is the one to beat. Jane Williams won this race last year; therefore, AUTHOCELTIC has to be respected on his hurdles debut and can be featured on the shortlist.

Leg 2 Selections: Getaway Theatre, Hamartia

GETAWAY THEATRE made a winning start over hurdles at Stratford just over three weeks ago, and she should be difficult to beat carrying a penalty on this occasion. HAMARTIA fell when last seen, but she showed a decent level of form beforehand and could emerge as a significant danger on her stable debut for Neil Mulholland.

Leg 3 Selections: Amrons Sage, Kilbeg King

AMRONS SAGE progressed nicely over hurdles last season, and the form of his Ludlow form looks good. He should be on the premises on his chase debut. KILBEG KING is another who made relentless progress over hurdles last term, winning three of his five starts, and should take a step forward from his chase debut and comeback run.

Leg 4 Selections: King Alexander, Astronomic View

KING ALEXANDER has a good record when fresh and won two races over hurdles earlier this year. He was beaten when he fell last time but was booked for second place, and that looks like a strong piece of form. He looks well-handicapped, with a mark of 121. ASTRONOMIC VIEW shaped encouragingly on his return at Exeter when third and could build on that here.

Leg 5 Selections: Orchard Grove, Gerard Mentor

Kerry Lee’s ORCHARD GROVE won four times in 2021, and although he has been lightly raced since, he ran well when last seen at Bangor to finish third and is 2Ib lower on his return. He has a good record when fresh and could make an impact, while GERARD MENTOR has C&D-winning form and can also pose a threat for trainer Kim Bailey, who is in excellent form.

Leg 6 Selections: Run To Milan, Enjoy Your Life

RUN TO MILAN loves it around here. He has three course wins, and the latest of those came off a 10Ib higher mark in a stronger race. He will be fitter from his positive comeback run here last time and has excellent claims. ENJOY YOUR LIFE would only need to repeat his Wincanton second to potentially go one better while still ahead of the assessor.
