With King Otis out this looks a great chance for COBBS CORNER to open his account over fences. He was beaten 9 lengths into fourth on chase debut over C&D at the start of the month but showed plenty to work on. The form has been given substance as the winner and second have finished runner-up since and the third ran well to finish third in a competitive race at Wincanton. He is sure to come on from that first start for 252 days and is also open to plenty of improvement in this sphere. Loudspeaker was pretty poor over hurdles but made a winning start over fences at Doncaster and is probably the biggest danger.

This looks a two horse race and I’m keen to side with YOUNG BUSTER for Fergal O’Brien. This son of Yeats impressed making a winning chase debut at Warwick on final start last season. He jumped well for a horse going over fences for the first time and I loved the way he stayed on strongly through the line.

The runner-up has given that form substance since and with the step back up in trip sure to suit he is a confident bet to come out on top on return. Busty Boy has fitness on side after winning well on chase debut over C&D last month and is the obvious danger up 5lb for that. Of the rest Overcourt isn’t getting any younger but has been consistent the last twice.
