There might only be the 5 runners heading to post for this handicap chase but it looks a decent race. I’m confident GARDE DES CHAMPS is the one to be on for Lucinda Russell. He ran a very good race when third to Homme Public on chase debut at Wetherby and given that form has been strongly franked since if he improves he should be hard to beat. The fourth Cracking Destiny bolted up at this track next time out and the winner Homme Public obviously won at Cheltenham albeit fortunate with JPR One departing at the last. That is strong form and he should have these covered. Neigh Botha is open to improvement and looks the danger.

The only last time out winner in the field FAMOSO looks worth backing again here. He caught the eye when runner-up at Stratford 3 starts back but let backers down running a bit flat at Exeter. It was good to see him back to his best at Ludlow and I thought he showed a real likeable attitude to get on top with the front pair 10 lengths clear from a well strung out field. He is up 5lb but with the yard going well he may have found a good opportunity to follow up. My Rockstar knuckled down well to hold on narrowly at Wincanton on penultimate start back in April and was by no means disgraced on final start at Warwick. If ready to go he could be the main threat.
