I have been waiting to see MASACCIO out again following his debut win over hurdles at Chepstow. He struck me as a horse who was learning as the race went on and despite doing plenty wrong he still came through to win. I loved his attitude in the closing stages to see off Beat The Bat and with that initial experience under his belt he could take a big step forward. He will be suited by this test and I’m expecting him to go 2-2 over hurdles. Jingko Blue was turned over at odds-on at Warwick on debut over hurdles last month and should come on for the outing so looks the main danger. Emailandy is another one to note.

The form says SCHOOL DAYS OVER won by 2 lengths at Hereford but I thought he was value for a fair bit more than that. He started winding it up a long way from home and was always doing enough in the closing stages staying on strongly through the line. He drops back slightly in trip here which should suit and with further improvement to come I’m expecting him to make it 2-2 over fences. General Officer bumped into Chapel Green on chase debut and then found Master Chewy too strong at Aintree. He has more to offer and looks the obvious danger. William Of York makes his chase debut and should do better for the experience.
