The way FIRST OF MAY quickened up to win over C&D when last seen was impressive. She sneaked up the rail and hit the line pretty much full of running. She understandably clocked a decent speed figure too and up 4lb I think she can follow up here. She is still unexposed after just a handful of starts in handicaps and looks to have the most potential.

Aramis Grey is a decent yardstick and she should give her most to think about but I’m surprised she is favourite over the selection at the time of writing. Cuban Breeze finally ended a losing run to win at Chelmsford last month and while a 2lb rise obviously isn’t damaging I get the feeling she’ll need more in this. Shades Of Summer looks up against it too.

The likeable GOLDSMITH has been knocking hard on the door in recent starts and it just might open tonight. He continues catching the eye and again just looked to bump into one in the shape of Kentucky Kingdom at Lingfield last month. The winner has won at Chelmsford since to frank the form so off just a 1lb higher mark he should be able to go one better here. He needs things to drop right but if it does he is clearly handicapping to strike. First-time cheekpieces could also help eke out a bit more improvement so on the balance I think there is plenty to like. Masqool has won at this track and is coming back down the weights so could bounce back and be the danger. Prince Ali was denied just a neck last time so also has obvious credentials.
