Architect Tips shares Tote Placepot tips for Monday's action at Wolverhampton and yesterday's Placepot results from Carlisle.
17:00 Wolverhampton
Leg 1 Selections: Kenstone, Last Date, Written Broadcast
Former C&D winner KENSTONE has come really close at this course the last two times, and if you take his jockeys claim into account, he can compete in this race with a lower mark than when he was last successful. He is a big player, while LAST DATE is 9Ib below his last winning mark and is feared. WRITTEN BROADCAST, who is a course specialist, is also shortlisted.

Leg 2 Selections: Brave Display, Probable
BRAVE DISPLAY was unlucky here last time; he was left with a lot to do and didn’t get a clear run before flying towards the finish to take third. This former C&D winner should go close. PROBABLE is one of the more appealing outsiders. This three-year-old went very close behind a higher-rated winner when second over C&D in his penultimate start and has a chance if he’s back to that form.

Leg 3 Selections: Smoky Mountain
It is hard to see past SMOKY MOUNTAIN in the third race. This son of Frankel has displayed race-by-race progress and has only found one too good in his last couple of starts. He is far less exposed than the expensive-to-follow Alexandretta, who has already blown multiple chances to succeed. From a handy draw, the former can win this for last year’s winning stable.

Leg 4 Selections: Wilkie, Pysanka
It’s been a while since WILKIE last got his head in front, but the five-year-old is well treated on last year’s form, when rated as high as 95. He went close here back in October from this exact mark and must have every chance if he’s in similar form. PYSANKA is a course winner who only found one too good at this course last time, so he’s another to merit consideration from only a 1Ib higher mark in a wide-open contest.
19:00 Wolverhampton
Leg 5 Selections: Aramis Grey, Cuban Breeze
ARAMIS GREY is by far the best horse in the race and has various wins and placed efforts to her name in stronger events, including the last three times. Her third over C&D in September reads the best form in the field, so although she has to concede a chunk of weight to her three rivals, this C&D winner should be very hard to beat. CUBAN BREEZE is another with C&D-winning form and returned to winning ways at Chelmsford over three weeks ago. She’s the biggest danger to the former.
19:30 Wolverhampton
Leg 6 Selections: Brazen Idol, Tyger Bay
BRAZEN IDOL has a good strike rate, and this former C&D winner, who has been running well for a while, was rewarded with success on the turf when last seen. He should remain extremely competitive. TYGER BAY can operate from a 7Ib lower mark than when he last won and has looked like he’s on the way back to form the last two times. He must have a really solid chance of at least making the frame again.
