I am taking a bit of a chance with one here but it’s that sort of day and Harry Derham seems to be assembling a nice team of horses so QUEENSBURY BOY could make a winning start. He was purchased after winning an Irish point to point in good style at Castlelands back in March. He pulled clear with the runner-up and there was a lot of promise in that win. Now sent under Rules with David Maxwell (also the owner) in the saddle I am expecting a big run.

As always with bumpers the betting will be informative so keep an eye on it in the run up to the race. Ted’s Gift has experience on side having run in a couple of bumpers at Worcester and if improving again could be one of the dangers. Ace Of Spades represents powerful connections and is another one expected to get involved.

This looks a great chance for the improving LIGHT SPEED to complete the hat-trick. He left his debut run well behind to open his account at Newcastle and was then suited by the step up in trip to follow up at Wolverhampton last month. He ran on well in the closing stages so up to a mile and a quarter for the first time now handicapping he could be ahead of the assessor. A mark of 80 is no given but he is on an upward trajectory and I think he will really relish this trip.

Tiger Beetle was denied the hat-trick over C&D last month but certainly wasn’t disgraced going down a length and a half and he might still have more to come so looks the danger. Of the rest Enough Already showed a good attitude to prevail over C&D last month and if repeating that will also be involved here.
