GYTO Monday Notebook Double

I didn’t expect to see CHANDLERS BAY as big as 9/1 for this but I’m not letting that morning drift put me off. He has improved with every run and was only beaten half a length into third at Plumpton on final start last season. He retains potential now handicapping and he may well surprise a few with the ground looking ideal. Artistic Endeavour didn’t shape badly in defeat when fifth at Cheltenham last month and now in calmer waters could be the danger. Nordic Tiger is another one that could improve now handicapping so don’t write him off either.

 

The market is suggesting Blue Point filly Blue Virtue could be pretty useful but I never like guessing when it comes to debutants. I prefer ROMAN EMPEROR who has a run under his belt. He was sent off 33/1 on debut suggesting they didn’t expect much but ran well to finish third behind Son who is a decent yardstick. He has been given plenty of time since and if improving should have a great chance to open his account now. Mrs Morrell has run well on both starts to date and is another one I expect to get competitive at least.
