Leg 1 Selections: Moreginplease
This isn’t the easiest of races to solve, but MOREGINPLEASE shaped very nicely on her all-weather debut when third at Lingfield, and the handicapper has surprisingly dropped her mark by 1Ib. She’s drawn well in stall 6, and all-weather specialist Jack Mitchell has essentially been booked to ride, so there’s a lot to like about her chances in this. Moreover, she has made the frame in all three starts at this level, so her claims are valid in what is a winnable race.

Leg 2 Selections: Alhather, Prom Queen
Those with experience in the second race don’t set a high standard, so I’m keen on taking a chance on a couple of newcomers. The first one is Andrew Balding’s ALHATHER, who is related to several winners and could be ready to go well from the best seat in the house, stall 1. PROM QUEEN, who is the daughter of the high-class Ribchester, is a rare two-year-old debutant at this course for trainer Richard Fahey. She could run well, given that she’s also drawn well in stall 2.

Leg 3 Selections: Night Raider, Danielle
In the third race on the card, more newcomers take my interest. Karl Burke is prone to doing well with debutants, and he saddles NIGHT RAIDER, a son of Dark Angel, who will be partnered by Danny Tudhope. She’s of serious interest in a race like this. DANIELLE makes obvious appeal on paper, and this well-bred filly, who’s closely related to Group 1 winners Cracksman and Courage Mon Ami, has to be taken seriously here. She will stay further, but she should be competitive, and the market agrees.

Leg 4 Selections: Bankrupt, Absolutelyflawless
BANKRUPT has been on a roll this year, winning five of his 11 starts, including his last four, and did well to overcome a troubled passage when completing his four-timer at Wolverhampton just under three weeks ago. Despite being hit with a 10Ib rise for his latest success, another bold effort looks on the cards. Of the remainder, ABSOLUTELYFLAWLESS is a course winner with plenty of early dash and could run well off a career-low mark.

Leg 5 Selections: Wild Side, Yorkshire Lady
Neither of the top two in the betting take my interest in the fifth race, and instead, I prefer the chances of the top-weight WILD SIDE. She fared a lot better than the finishing margin suggested last time under a big weight, given that she had to do a lot of running to play catch up after a slow start and only weakened towards the finish. She still warrants respect, while YORKSHIRE LADY won off a 3Ib higher mark at Ayr last year and is eased in grade.

Leg 6 Selections: Lord Riddiford, Bergerac, Khabib
The best race is the final race on the card. It is extremely competitive, with plenty to consider, so I’ll cover three selections. LORD RIDDIFORD ran a solid race when second off this mark at Wolverhampton, and this eight-year-old should go well, while recent Newcastle winner BERGERAC remains well-handicapped on the pick of last year’s form and has a decent chance. KHABIB has a good record over C&D, which reads 12231, and must be respected.
