I know it was only a seller SMART DEAL won at Chelmsford last month but he did it impressively making all the running and extending away at the finish. He goes handicapping now for the first time on the Flat and he remains lightly raced so could easily have further improvement in him.

There isn’t a huge amount of pace on so there is potential for a soft lead and I just think he might have slipped under the radar. The Horse Watchers are always trying to land a gamble at this time of the year and August would have to be respected. He was previously with John and Thady Gosden and looks just the type Mick Appleby does well with so he is feared. Sandret only went down narrowly at Newcastle last time and is another one to note if building on that.
