GYTO's Monday Notebook Double pays 12/1.
13:40 Plumpton
After showing glimpses of promise in a bumper at Newbury on debut MENAGGIO took a decent step forward on hurdles debut at Kempton last month. He finished fifth but it was a big field and he made good headway 2 out before looking like he’d improve for the outing. This tight track should suit and he looks to have found a winnable maiden hurdle to get off the mark. Fierce Warrior impressed winning a bumper at Worcester on just his second start and also showed promise when fifth behind Norman Fletcher at Market Rasen last month. He did weaken late though and steps up in trip so might need more. That could leave In D’or as the main danger but he also needs to improve on that Fontwell run.
13:55 Musselburgh
A break and a wind op coupled with coming down the handicap saw HELLO JUDGE back to his best as he got off the mark in this sphere at Carlisle back in October. He went up 4lb and wasn’t disgraced in defeat when third at Newcastle last month. I rate the winner Cruz Control and the runner-up Glory And Honour managed to reverse that form winning over the weekend so the form has been franked. He goes off the same mark but in calmer waters and can get back to winning ways. Restandbethankful ran well when second to Mint Gold at this track last month and a repeat of that would likely see him as the danger. Dancewiththewind pulled up at Kelso and has a bit to prove off the back of that.
