Leg 1 Selections: Rob Roy Macgregor

ROB ROY MACGREGOR won a bumper here impressively in March when beating subsequent winner Cannock Park before shaping well over an inadequate trip when fourth on his recent Kelso hurdle debut. With that experience under his belt, he could prove difficult to beat.

Leg 2 Selections: Blue Fin, Our Follet

BLUE FIN ran really well when second on last month’s chase debut here and has not finished out of the frame in all completed starts either. He is the one to beat under Brian Hughes, while OUR FOLLET warmed up for this chase debut with a spin at Compiegne and could give the favourite most to think about.

Leg 3 Selections: R S Ambush, Bushmill Boy

R S AMBUSH chased home a subsequent Grade 2 winner on his hurdles debut at Worcester and wasn’t disgraced when fourth on handicap debut at Wincanton. He should go well, while BUSHMILL BOY has been thereabouts in all of his completed starts this year and must be shortlisted with a low weight in a winnable race.

Leg 4 Selections: Universal Folly, Christopher Wood, Dubai Days

UNIVERSAL FOLLY has three wins and two seconds from five starts over fences and could resume winning ways with no horse in this field of the same calibre as the one who beat him last time. CHRISTOPHER WOOD could have more to offer in this sphere and has undergone another wind operation since. DUBAI DAYS won his only previous start at this course and cannot be dismissed.

Leg 5 Selections: Omar Maretti, Schalke

OMAR MARETTI is very lightly-raced for his age, but has some good form to his name and should be much fitter from his recent comeback sixth at Aintree. He is well handicapped on the pick of his form. SCHALKE was only just behind Howlingmadmurdock at Haydock last time and could offer some value at the likely odds. He shouldn’t be far away in this race.

Leg 6 Selections: Fenland Tiger, Track And Trace

FENLAND TIGER has been on a roll this past year, winning four of his last five starts, and he made a winning chase debut over C&D seven weeks ago. He should have more to come, and he is the one they all have to beat. TRACK AND TRACE represents a stable in good form and could go well.
