The eye is drawn to Magic Wave after that dominant win at Market Rasen last month but THE KALOOKI KID is improving fast now and he looks value to turn him over. He left his hurdles debut well behind to win head in chest at Musselburgh last time and with more to come again may well be good enough to follow up. Magic Wave is respected but I’m not massively convinced by him and it wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world to see I Love My Baie emerge as the main danger. He has bumped into some useful types and this is easier so he should be able to make his presence felt at least.

The likeable THEATRE MAN did everything right bar winning on chase debut. He warmed to the task out in front and jumped really well for a horse over fences for the first time. In hindsight he bumped into a nice prospect in Inch House I think with further improvement should go one better here. Only five runners but there is plenty of quality on show so it won’t be easy. The danger is likely Amrons Sage who also finished second on chase debut and if improving should give the selection something to think about. Brave Kingdom beat General Medrano at Plumpton last month and that was a likeable effort but I do think this is tougher.
