I’m confident TSUNAMI SPIRIT will take a bit of beating here. He ran an eye-catching race when fourth to Olympic Candle at Kempton back in September and then improved to open his account at that venue back in October. He was denied a neck when last seen in testing ground at Catterick but freshened up since with a winter campaign in mind he should make a winning start in nursery company. An opening mark of 85 looks workable and if he improves again he should go very well. Call Glory ran a cracker on penultimate start and wasn’t disgraced back down in trip last time so looks the danger. Flag Carrier is also likely capable of better and is another one that must enter calculations.

Irish point winner DIVINE INSPIRATION has made a promising start over fences finishing third on chase debut at Wetherby on final start last season. He then had a wind op and also caught the eye finishing third on reappearance at Plumpton. With that under his belt and the likelihood of more to come this represents a good opportunity for him to get his head in front. The odd mistake seemed to hold him back last time so with fitness on side and a slicker round of jumping he should be going close. Flash Gorcombe didn’t run badly when third to Abingworth at Taunton last time and he could be the danger if building on that. Natty Night is another to note with his yard going well.
