Architect Tips shares Placepot tips for Wednesday's action at Newbury and yesterday's Placepot results from Wolverhampton.
12:15 Newbury
Leg 1 Selections: Therapist
Nicky Henderson’s THERAPIST has some fairly useful flat form to her name and must be shortlisted.
12:50 Newbury
Leg 2 Selections: Arthurian Fable, Salvatore
The most interesting hurdle debutant is ARTHURIAN CABLE. The six-year-old has a long absence to overcome but was in good form when last seen, placing at Royal Ascot for the second time before placing in a hot handicap at Newmarket.
He will improve from what he does here, but he should still be competitive, while SALVATORE is another to note. He won two of his three flat starts in France and is very interesting despite his absence as well.
13:25 Newbury
Leg 3 Selections: Brave Kingdom, Hector Javilex
BRAVE KINGDOM has only met with defeat once in five starts when third in a Grade 2, and after winning two of his three hurdle starts, he markedly improved his form when jumping with serious conviction en route to scoring impressively on his chase debut last month.
He should have loads more to come and is the one to beat. HECTOR JAVILEX won a good-quality handicap at Cheltenham back in January and should be able to advance his form in this sphere.
14:00 Newbury
Leg 4 Selections: Galia Des Liteaux, Pink Legend
GALIA DES LITEAUX returned to her best when she was impressive in a listed event when last seen, further enhancing her excellent first-time-out record, which reads 111. She is the one to beat with improvement on the cards. PINK LEGEND will be fitter from her comeback run at Aintree and is the viable alternative to the favourite.
14:35 Newbury
Leg 5 Selections: East India Express, Gidleigh Park
This race should prove informative, with two exciting, unbeaten youngsters crossing swords as both hold a bright future. EAST INDIA EXPRESS won by over six lengths in his sole bumper at Kempton before winking by five lengths back at the same venue on his hurdles debut.
He has a serious chance in spite of his penalty, while GIDLEIGH PARK has an identical profile, having bolted up in a bumper and on his hurdles debut. It is hard to split the pair, so both of them are played accordingly on the ticket.
15:10 Newbury
Leg 6 Selections: Etalon, Martator
ETALON progressed very nicely over hurdles last season and concluded his season with an excellent fourth of 16 in a valuable Grade 3 handicap at Sandown. He should do even better over fences and could be too good for these, though MARTATOR placed in a Grade 1 race when trained in France and could go well after shaping with promise in all three chase starts (one of those in France).
