Despite attracting strong support on debut GENTLEMAN’S RELISH was never put in the race and just had a canter round finishing down the field. Given plenty of time he returned with a much improved effort winning readily at Newbury last month. He slammed Tommie Gun who came out and won on hurdles debut so the form has already been well advertised. He is a horse with plenty of scope so I think he’ll keep improving for a while yet and if taking to hurdles should take a lot of beating. Moon Chime was third to Brechin Castle at Cheltenham and that is very solid form so he looks the danger. Onethreefivenotout was beaten just a length at Wincanton and if building on that is another one that should get competitive.

This is tougher again but LIGHT SPEED is progressing well through the grades and he looked very good up to a mile and a quarter for the first time at Lingfield latest. The handicapper has reacted raising him 7lb for that but he still looks open to further improvement being unexposed over this trip and I can see him completing the four-timer here with 3lb claimer William Carver back in the saddle. He likes this track too having beat Runing Star here over slightly shorter last month. Civil Law won readily over C&D last month and looks the obvious danger up 5lb as he clocked quite a decent speed figure. Of the rest Felix is a classy type when on song but this won’t be easy off top weight and he disappointed at Newcastle last time.
