The six-year-old won at Kilbeggan on his previous start and he may have too much for Carlisle runner-up Askmore and Asta La Pasta, who ran a promising race on his handicap debut at Sandown earlier in the month.

VIA DANTE looked to be on course for a first career victory when a fall two out put an end to his chances at Newton Abbot in April. Raised 4lb for those exertions, the son of Milan returns in a contest that looks winnable and, with conditions in his favour, he can get the better of Annaharvey Lad who represents the in-form Sue Smith stable. Benny Baloo shaped with promise on his chasing bow at Newcastle last month and also warrants respect.

This can go the way of GIOVANNI CHANGE, who ran an excellent race over hurdles here last month when second over further. Mark Walford's charge has only had two previous attempts over fences, so remains unexposed in this sphere and, as a four-time course winner, he should relish a return to this venue. Successful on three of his last four starts, Jigginstown King is a leading player, along with Poker Master, who makes his chase debut and should be suited by dropping in trip.

ANIMAL has had an excellent start to this season and his most recent victory at Sandown appeals as the strongest form on offer. A 4lb rise for that success may not halt him and the step up in trip may bring about further improvement, with recent easy course winner O'connell looking best placed to chase him home for his in-form connections. Inis Oirr bounced back to form with a strong runner-up effort at Musselburgh last month and also enters calculations.

DECORATED was no match for a decent sort of Nicky Henderson's at Taunton last month, but that was his best effort since wind surgery and he may be able to go one better now in calmer waters. A winner of two of his last four starts, the son of Nathaniel looks well capable of seeing off the likes of Great Ocean and Welsh Charger, who should be well suited by the extra few furlongs in trip. Handicap debutant Spitalfield can also have a say in proceedings.
