I was really impressed with the way JACKPOT D’ATHOU stretched away to make a winning hurdles debut at this track last month. That was visually impressive and the form was franked yesterday with Party Vibes winning readily. He is open to improvement off the back of that initial effort and should justify favouritism here. Imperial Saint won very easily at Ludlow on reappearance and with more to come looks the obvious danger. I wouldn’t actually put you off doing a reverse forecast here as I do think it is a two-horse race. Its Ditto won here back in October and then was denied just a head at Exeter so is best of the rest but a bit to find with the principals to get involved.

That reappearance win from DINOBLUE was impressive and given she is still open to further improvement over fences she may well be good enough to follow up here. She beat Fil Dor at Naas and that rival has since chased home El Fabiolo at Cork so it looks rock solid. She has a likeable way of going through her races and jumps well so I’m keen she is the one to be on. Captain Guinness won very easily at Navan on return and he has to be feared but I do feel he can make mistakes and that might be the difference here. His form is hard to knock though so I do expect them to fight it out. Gentleman De Mee always has to be respected but Mark Walsh prefers the selection which is a big statement.
