Henri The Second was a disappointing favourite on his chasing bow at Sandown but could well bounce back with his match-fitness topped up. He looks the obvious danger because Good Time Jonny needs to better previous chase form to figure, although he did win the Pertemps Final over the smaller obstacles.

A winner at this level on his penultimate start, IDDERGEM has the ability to take command here and, with trip and ground to suit, he readily selected as the one to be with. Fakir is suggested as second choice because he is open to some improvement with a tongue-tie/cheekpiece combination now tried. Vorashann has won at a much higher level in the past and enters calculations, despite a modest comeback at Huntingdon.

Last-time-out Taunton winner ABINGWORTH has improved with each run over fences and a 5lb rise may not be enough to prevent Gary Moore's gelding from completing a double. Couldbeaweapon was still in contention when unseating his rider at the third-last at Southwell recently and the six-year-old shouldn't be far away if none the worse for that mishap. Missed Tee may fare best of the remainder.

Although TUNE IN A BOX has been hit with a 9lb rise for last month's Newcastle victory on his handicap bow, he appeared to have plenty left in the tank. Tom Lacey's four-year-old is hard to oppose, although Rare Clouds wasn't disgraced when a close-up third behind the progressive Wot You Wearing at Chepstow in November and is capable of making a race of it. The downgraded Fourofakind rounds out the shortlist.

BELARGUS was returning from a 243-day break when well held at Newbury last month. He was never really in contention but has been dropped 2lb, which puts him 8lb below his last winning mark, so he might be primed for a big run. The main threat may be Dibble Decker, who lurks on a workable rating and could get involved off 2lb lower than his latest underwhelming performance at Wincanton. The returning Seigneur Des As is worth a look with Harry Cobden aboard.

GARDENER hosed up on his chasing bow and first start for Olly Murphy at Southwell and competes off a mark 10lb lower than his revised figure in that sphere as he reverts to timber. Word Has It returned from a break to account for what turned out to be just the one opponent at Fontwell and can put up the biggest fight to the selection off 1lb higher. Inca De Lafayette could bounce back from a Huntingdon flop to beat Thunderclap home for third.
