After going down a nose and a short head MR TRICK stepped forward again up to a mile and a quarter to win at Chelmsford last month. He had to come wide that day too but ran on willingly in the closing stages to get up by half a length. He stepped up in trip again to a mile and a half for the first time at this track latest and was just giving too much to do.
They were probably riding him to get the trip as he had never tried it before but the way he finished suggests he could be even better over it. He was nearest finish and clocked some eye-catching closing sectionals. If he gets a good pace to run down and is a bit closer this time he has a massive chance.

Not many of these come here in form so it might be worth taking a chance on MARAAKIZ building on that last run. This son of Muhaarar is lightly raced for his age and he finally showed something when beaten just over a length at Southwell last month. He was slowly into stride and held up in the early stages but made some good headway and was keeping on well at the finish.
He runs off the same mark now and could be ready to strike again. I think the fact Ibiza Rocks is second fav and is on a 20-run losing sequence says a lot about the lack of quality on show. Braes Of Doune is the only last time out winner in the field so is the likely danger but a 4lb higher mark will make life tougher.
