I’m surprised at the market weakness for RICH HARRY this morning as he looks to have a great opportunity to open his account. He was only beaten 3 lengths on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last month and if this step up in trip brings about further improvement off the same mark then he will definitely go close. Some of his form stacks up and on the clock he could take a bit of beating. Freds Mate is the one that has been backed and possibly because he is the most unexposed in the field. He finished nearer last than first at Lingfield last month though so has a bit to prove and is short enough.

Expensive recruit SAINT DAVY could be a horse to keep on the right side of this season. He won his sole start in a point to point before making an impressive start under Rules winning a bumper at Carlisle by 4 lengths. He then showed a good attitude to follow up albeit by a nose on hurdles debut at Chepstow. That earned him a shot at Grade 1 company at Aintree but he just found that company a bit too hot to handle. Now sent handicapping he remains completely unexposed and I’m expecting a big run here. Hurricane Harvey isn’t getting any younger but he has the form to mount a challenge. Emitom is another one in with a squeak.
