After running a couple of big races in defeat it was good to see CLASSIC ANTHEM get his head in front last time. He ran on strongly at the finish to get up and was nicely in command at the line. The third Asta La Pasta won next time out to frank the form and with the step up to 2 and a half miles likely to bring about further improvement I think he can follow up. Rock Danse also impressed winning at Hexham last month but he did only beat 1 rival home with four of them pulling up. This will be tougher but he is going the right way and handles conditions. West Warhorse is also respected having won well on first crack at this trip at Fakenham last month.

The penny really seems to have dropped for SAVVY BRILLIANCE now and given the horse he beat last time won on Friday his form is really stacking up. He is up another 9lb but with the step up beyond 2 miles likely to bring about further improvement again the hat-trick beckons. Caldwell appreciate this surface getting back to winning ways last month and looks the most immediate danger but he does lack consistency and isn’t a certainty to follow that up. Artisan Dancer has been his own worse enemy as he continues to run well without winning so probably needs more help from the handicapper. C’mon Kenny is another one likely to get competitive.
