It was good to see CHARLES ST finally get his head back in front over C&D when last seen back in November. He travelled well through that race and kept on strongly to win by 3 lengths. He looked a lot more straightforward on that occasion so perhaps he is maturing with age. The field was well strung out in behind so I see no reason to question the strength of the form either. He is 5lb higher but given time since if he repeats that sort of form then he will be tough to beat. Our Bill’s Aunt has been running to a consistent level in recent times and having undergone wind surgery since that last run he might emerge as the main danger.

I think the two at the top of the betting Resilience and Blazing Hot both have something to prove so it might be worth chancing NOT TOO REAL BAD to come good. This Exceed and Excel filly has failed to land a blow since joining Mick Appleby but she broke awkwardly at Newcastle last time and could never land a blow from off the pace. She still showed some encouragement though and with cheekpieces on for the first time back down to the minimum trip if she bounces back she could be a huge player. Of the two vying for favouritism Resilience is probably the danger as he hasn’t been beaten too far the last twice and also has first-time cheekpieces.
