I was impressed with the way CRUZ CONTROL opened his account over fences at Newcastle as he kept finding off the bridle to prevail. He didn’t do much wrong at this track last time finding just the one too good. That form has been franked too with the fourth Findthetime winning albeit fortunately at Newcastle over the weekend. He has a tongue strap applied now which should help and given his size and scope I expect further improvement yet. If he does step forward again then he will be the one to be on. Demachine is a 10yo now but he is down in grade on his return and if bouncing back to form could emerge as the danger as he has won fresh in the past.

The money came for LARTIGUE on debut and he ran a big race going down just a length and a half. He stayed on well but just lacked the experience to challenge the winner who made virtually all the running and had more experience on side. He had Composite held back in third and that horse has won since to frank the form. The latter actually opposes again here and is probably the danger but if the selection improves as hoped from that initial effort then he is definitely the one to beat. Of the rest Little Peter isn’t without a hope either as he was back to form retuned to this sphere when second at Southwell.
