While connections would have been hopeful of DIAMOND RI making a winning start over hurdles he just looked to bump into one on the day at Exeter. The form has already been boosted as the third, fifth and even eighth now all have wins to their names. I know the winner Insurrection has been beaten twice since but he bumped into the exciting Deafening Silence at Sandown and then was third to a couple of promising types in Golden Ace and Lucky Place. The form is stacking up and if the selection improves from that initial effort he should be the one to beat. Vicenzo was an encouraging third on hurdles debut at Carlisle and with improvement expected looks the main danger.

The likeable CHIANTI CLASSICO is yet to put a foot wrong and he looks a chaser to keep firmly on side for now. He was impressive on reappearance at Chepstow and then followed up despite being weak in the betting at Ascot when last seen back in November. He is open to further improvement after just a couple of starts in this sphere and looks the most likely winner with Harry Cobden booked for the ride. Flegmatik has run well the last twice and should go well again racing off the same mark. Gustavian bumped into Richmond Lake at Aintree and back up in trip should run well. Latitude only went down half a length at Ludlow and is another one to note.
