18:30 Newcastle

This looks a competitive 0-85 handicap but preference goes to LAHAB (best priced at 13/2) who makes his handicap debut on his first run for Grant Tuer. The four-year-old placed in two novice races at Newbury and Kempton before getting off the mark at Chepstow on his final start last season justifying his short odds of 30/100. He won by 3 ¼ lengths that day before joining Grant Tuer having been sold for 10,000gns at the end of the season out of the Andrew Balding stable.

Lahab ran well to finish 3rd on his only AW start at Kempton last season and is respected on his handicap debut off a mark of 77 having been gelded since his last run.
