Despite being sent off 50/1 GLENCALVIE ran a really good race beaten just a length into second at Wolverhampton at the start of the month. She didn’t get the clearest run either so I think you can mark it up a bit. Racing off the same mark here and dropping back to 7f could see her improve enough to open her account. She remains unexposed and has only actually had 4 starts in handicaps. Grace McEntee has been booked for the ride and claims a handy 3lb off her back too. Conquest Of Power has been consistent all season and didn’t run badly in what looked quite a good race for the level last time so is the main danger.

I can see CATESBY being well backed here as it seems to be only a matter of time before this son of Slade Power is in the winners enclosure again. He was slowly into stride last time and then was hampered quite badly when trying to come through. He was switched right and ran on strongly but was never quite getting to them. He has been dropped 1lb for that and is clearly well handicapped if things drop right. This is easier and he must go close again. Trulie Good was beaten less than a length last time and if building on that could be the danger. Cubanista is also respected at this level if getting back to near his best.
