McCauley’s Tavern will no doubt prove popular following his course and distance success a fortnight ago but preference instead goes to BACK TOMORROW (best priced at 7/2) who gets the assistance of top amateur rider Simon Walker. The Richard Spencer trained four-year-old had run with credit on her first four starts on turf but took a big step forward last time at Southwell on her AW debut.

Back Tomorrow won a similar contest under Simon Walker by a length at Southwell off a mark of 58 and she runs here off only a 3lb higher mark. I would rate that form higher than the race contested by McCauley’s Tavern and Swiss Pride last time and expect her to prove hard to beat.

The Dominic French Davis trained TEA LEAF TED (best priced at 7/2) has shown improved form at Kempton on his previous two starts and should gain a much deserved victory in this race. The three-yaer-old gelding only beat one rival home in his first four starts on turf so it was understandable that he was sent off 66/1 for his AW debut over this course and distance a month ago. He was only beatean ¾ length in 3rd that day in first time cheekpieces off a mark of 45 and he prove that was no fluke when 2nd by a short head over this course and distance again last time off a 1lb higher mark.

The handicapper has raised Tea Leaf 3lbs for that run up to a mark of 49 but he instead runs here off a mark of 46 so he is 3lbs “well in” at the weights. George Rooke takes over on board and he should run well once again over this course and distance.

The John Jenkins trained NO NEWS (best priced at 7/4) bids for a hat-trick of course and distance wins in just over a month and he should hold strong claims of doing so. The four-year-old had dropped to a career low mark of 52 when 2nd over this course and distance in October before winning here by 2 ¼ lengths in December off a mark of 53.

No News held off the late challenge of Laura’s Breeze last time to win by a neck off a mark of 57 and he should hold strong claims off only a 2lb higher mark. Lewis Edmunds is 2/2 on the gelding and the pair are expected to complete a hat-trick of wins.
