RAAD ALBROOQ displayed plenty of promise when filling second place on his debut at Al Ain earlier in the month and he could be hard to stop with the benefit of that experience. However, Garmoosha also brings strong form to the table and is an obvious threat to the selection. Hafeer Baynounah has won a trial here and has to be of interest as a result, while Diyaah and Aasir are also noted.

CHANDIGAH makes his UAE/stable debut here having shown plenty of ability when trained in Ireland as a juvenile. The son of Churchill was placed in a Group 3 over this trip at the Curragh in August and a repeat of that form would give him an outstanding chance in this company. That said, Ghaaleb has been running consistently well up the hill at Jebel Ali of late and his pedigree suggests that he should relish this switch to turf. Similar comments apply to Condor Pasa, while Arabic Song and Al Arbed are others who make the shortlist.

Mojeyrr is bound to be popular after making all in impressive fashion on his UAE debut at Jebel Ali a few weeks ago. That said, this is a more demanding test and he does have to prove himself on the Meydan dirt, which he is not certain to relish. With that in mind, preference is for his stablemate TAAKEED, who failed to fire on his most recent outing but he was a decisive winner over C&D on his previous start. Mr Kafoo is another with strong form claims having got off the mark over track and trip a couple of weeks ago, but stall nine does not help his chances. Dionysian and Many A Star are not certain to handle the dirt but could go well if they do, while Ribhi has an each-way chance based on an encouraging effort here two starts ago.

A wide-open contest but marginal preference is for LASER GUIDED, who was last seen winning over a mile at Pontefract in July. The son of Kingman could improve for a gelding operation since that victory and a mark of 84 may still underestimate him. The booking of William Buick is another positive and he should be able to get a good trip from stall five. Keffaaf has been running well enough at Jebel Ali this season, including a maiden victory two starts ago, but his pedigree suggests that he will be better on turf and he was an eye-catching second on his sole previous start on the grass. The likes of Return To Dubai, Sari Dubai and Franz Kafka all merit respect but wide draws will make life tougher for them, while Gareth and Mostawaa are others to consider.

MANAMA GOLD was a very impressive debut winner of a conditions event over 7f here last month and the $200,000 purchase clearly sets the standard based on that evidence. Fawzi Nass' filly is entitled to improve significantly and she looks to have plenty in her favour once again. Lahfaty was a well-beaten favourite in that contest having won impressively on her racecourse bow in November. It is too soon to be writing off the daughter of Mitole but that latest performance has to be a worry. Frost At Dawn chased home the selection last time but may struggle to get any closer from a much worse draw in stall 10. Wild Goddess will be popular but she may be best watched until proving herself on dirt given her pedigree. Mizzyaan, who is out of a mare that was second in a UAE Oaks and fourth in a UAE Derby before going on to Grade 1 success in the US, should not be underestimated on her first outing, while similar comments apply to Kibo Misaki.

Not the strongest renewals of this Group 2 contest and so a chance can be taken with ENGLISH ROSE, who has won both of her starts in novice company in the UK. William Buick has chosen the daughter of Frankel over two stablemates with stronger form, which suggests that further improvement can be expected here. Mystic Pearl (first) and Stenton Glider (second) fought out the finish of a Group 3 at Sandown in July and they both merit consideration, while Shining Jewel and Silver Lady are next best.

AL SALT was arguably an unlucky loser when a fast-finishing third in a Listed race over C&D four weeks ago and a reproduction of that level of form would make him hard to beat at this level. Mysterious Night was a couple of places behind the selection that day but is 4lb worse off at these weights and so will need to improve to reverse the form. One who may be underestimated is Taamol, who has a very good record over this track and trip in handicap company and was successful here off this mark last February. Boosala, Open Mind and Ventura Rebel complete the shortlist.

AL JADDAF failed to make an impact when not staying an extended 1m1f in The Entisar here last month, but better can be expected now dropped in trip and grade. Prior to that defeat, the five-year-old had won twice over C&D and a mark of 90 should be workable based on those efforts. Tahdeed is a previous C&D winner who was not disgraced in a similar event over 7f last time. His unexposed stablemate Ajdayet is another to consider, while Imperial Ace could surprise a few if getting to the front early on.

A very poor contest to close the card but it does provide MOUNT TAMBORA with an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. The son of Dark Angel showed plenty of ability when trained in France by Andre Fabre and he was only beaten a short head when second on his UAE debut at Abu Dhabi last week. Algernon was two places behind the selection on that occasion and appears to be the main threat to this stablemate, ahead of the recent Jebel Ali third Ezaj.
