GYTO Saturday Notebook Double

Unexposed filly AMAZING impressed winning with something to spare on return from 7 months off the track at Wolverhampton last month. That was her first start up to a mile and a half and she relished it staying on strongly to get up inside the final furlong. She is up 4lb but with further improvement to come looks set to follow up with Hollie Doyle getting the leg up. Bohemian Breeze had won 3 of his last 5 before finishing third at Southwell last month and could be the danger if proving as effective at this venue. Raintown was only beaten a couple of lengths at Wolverhampton last time and if building on that could also get competitive but this probably requires more.

The only last time out winner in the field OPTICIAN should be hard to beat here. This son of Expert Eye made a winning start for this yard over C&D last month and 4lb higher should have a great chance of following up. He is still lightly raced and now he has his head in front I expect him to kick on. Footsy won over track and trip last month but has been beaten twice since and the form of those runs has taken a bit of a knock since. He should run well but I do think he might be vulnerable especially to the selection. Lady Valentine is coming down the weights and 3lb lower than at Lingfield last time might show up better here at least.
