Alaphilippe hasn't looked happy in three attempts over fences since returning from a lengthy absence and the switch back to hurdles off a 3lb lower mark than his runner-up effort in the 2022 Pertemps Final offers hope that he may bounce back to form. Nurse Susan stepped forward from her first run of the season when scoring at Cheltenham and has to be respected, along with Bold Endeavour, who was runner-up at the same track under a positive ride.
