Following a 9/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with two tips for today's action.
14:15 Plumpton
Some punters may have lost faith in IDY WOOD (best priced at EVENS) following his defeat at 1/6 last time but he had excuses that day and should prove hard to beat. The Jamie Snowden trained six-year-old won his only bumper a year ago at Newbury before winning a Fontwell novice hurdle on his reappearance by 3 ¼ lengths. He outran odds of 22/1 to finish 3rd in the Grade 2 Sharp Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in October behind Lookaway and Kaminsas before finishing 2nd at Hexham last time.
Idy Wood had suffered an overreach that day as well as losing a shoe so that effort on heavy ground can be excused and this return to better ground will suit him well. The stable remain in good form and the 126 rated hurdler should get back to winning ways in this race.
16:10 Kempton
Unleash Hell sets the standard against two handicap debutants but he is vulnerable having not won in his nine career starts and a chance is taken on FLOWERING (best priced at 13/8) in first time cheekpieces. The Charlie Johnston trained three-year-old has form figures of 779 on her three career starts to date but now steps up in trip from a mile to 1m4f on her handicap debut.
Flowering runs here off an opening mark of 60 and connections also fit her first time cheekpieces. She returns here from a 62 day break and should prove hard to beat with Rossa Ryan taking over on board.
