VILLAINESS posted a fair second on her hurdles bow at Lingfield last month and Richard Bandey's mare appears to have been found an excellent opportunity to open her account. By The Grace didn't perform as expected when sent over timber at Wincanton just before Christmas, but she is capable of leaving that effort behind on the evidence of her bumper performances. Others to note are Tour Ovalie and Cheap Flights.
Prediction : 1st Villainess 2nd By The Grace 3rd Tour Ovalie

GORCOMBE MOONSHINE made a winning start over fences at Fontwell on Boxing Day and a 3lb rise in the handicap is unlikely to be the limit of his capabilities in this sphere. The seven-year-old likely has more to come and he shades the verdict ahead of Guillaume, who makes the long journey south after landing the spoils at Catterick last month. Donald McCain's charge has a 5lb higher mark to contend with and he isn't taken lightly, with Extraordinary Man unlikely to be far away either.
Prediction : 1st Gorcombe Moonshine 2nd Guillaume 3rd Extraordinary Man

Although IDY WOOD was turned over at odds-on when a close-up second at Hexham in November, he likely found the testing conditions against him. Jamie Snowden's inmate rates as the one to beat in this contest, where a return to more suitable conditions may see him regain the winning thread. Bob Bob Ricard has posted two solid efforts in defeat so far over hurdles and the six-year-old can give the selection most to think about, ahead of the lightly-raced Diplomatic Ash.
Prediction : 1st Idy Wood 2nd Bob Bob Ricard 3rd Diplomatic Ash

The combination of a 101-day break and Oscar Palmer's useful 10lb claim saw an improved bid from FIDUX, who finished a respectable second at Doncaster in December. A 2lb rise in the ratings for Alan King's veteran looks more than fair and compensation could be imminent. The downgraded Larry races off his last winning mark and he shouldn't be underestimated in these calmer waters, while Lord Accord is dangerous to discount if able to dictate the pace.
Prediction : 1st Fidux 2nd Larry 3rd Lord Accord

Boxing Day scorer LANSPARK landed a competitive race for the grade at Fontwell and he may been let in lightly off only 4lb higher in the ratings here. Robbie Llewellyn's charge boasts a C&D victory to his name and the Milan gelding ticks plenty of the right boxes. Just Sophie offered more to work with when a respectable fourth over 2m7f at Market Rasen in November and this stiffer test of stamina may draw out some more improvement, with Copshill Lad likely to give his running too.
Prediction : 1st Lanspark 2nd Just Sophie 3rd Copshill Lad

NICKELFORCE has been far from disgraced in recent defeats behind subsequent winners Top Clouds and Immortal Fame at Hereford and Doncaster respectively. Ben Case's gelding looks sure to pick up a race sooner or later and he's taken to repel his opponents in the finale. Handicap debutant Kauto Kawai receives a handy 15lb weight-for-age allowance and any market support would be interesting, with Birdman Bob and One Last Glance having the form to be involved too.
Prediction : 1st Nickelforce 2nd Kauto Kawai 3rd Birdman Bob
