Both Some Scope and Gold Link are respected following victories last time but preference instead goes to the consistent NO REGRETS (best priced at 5/1). The Nicky Richards trained ten-year-old has shown improved form since the application of cheekpieces with form figures of 12132. These include victories at Wetherby and Hexham off marks of 100 and 108.

No Regrets finished 3rd on his reappearance at Southwell before finishing only a neck behind Gentleman De Mai at Kelso last time off a mark of 110. The handicapper has raised him 2lbs up to a mark of 112 which is fair and he looks sure to run well with conditions to suit.

The Anthony Honeyball trained CAPTAIN CLAUDE (best priced at 2/1) has won both of his chase starts and can hopefully gain his third success over the larger obstacles at this track. The seven-year-old won a novice handicap hurdle here last year by 23 lengths before winning on his chasing debut here in November over 2m5f by 2 ½ lengths.

Captain Claude defied a 5lb rise to win here over 3m2f on Boxing Day before 11 lengths off a mark of 93 and he is worthy of a 7lb rise. This drop back in trip to 2m5f shouldn’t inconvenience him and he is expected to complete a hat-trick of chase victories at this track.
