Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's Racing Action.
14:10 Chepstow
This looks a competitive 0-105 handicap chase but preference goes to HASTON CLERMONT (best priced at 4/1) who has won his previous two starts over this trip. The Noel Williams trained seven-year-old looked outpaced over 2m3½f on his chasing debut on his reappearance before winning at Lingfield over 2m7½f off a mark of 91.
Haston Clermont defied a 5lb rise to win by 1 ¾ lengths at Wincanton last time on heavy ground over 3m1f and he looks worthy of a 6lb rise from the handicapper. He is still unexposed at this trip and he should run well under regular rider Jonny Burke.
15:35 Newcastle
The James Ewart trained BRAYHILL (best priced at 15/2) defied a 359 day break to win last time and he should hold strong claims off a 3lb higher mark. The nine-year-old won on his return last season at Kelso off a mark of 115 before doing the same again this year off a mark of 117 over 2m4f at this course.
Brayhill won by 1 ¼ lengths that day staying on well at the finish despite Brian Hughes losing an iron shaping like this step up in trip to 2m7½f would suit. He won on his first start after a wind operation last time and should run well off only a 3lb higher mark.
17:00 Southwell
The Scott Dixon trained CREATE (best priced at 11/2) has shown her best form at this track and a return to Southwell will suit her well. The four-year-old won by 1 ¾ lengths over a mile here on her debut despite an SP of 20/1 before finishing 2nd by a neck over 7f here in a novice race under a penalty after 208 days off the track. She slightly disappointed on her next two starts at Pontefract and Newcastle but returns following 88 days off the track back over a mile here.
Create runs here off top weight off a mark of 70 and she looks sure to run well back at this track.
