After ending the season on a high on the Flat winning 3 of his last 4 GOBLET OF FIRE left his hurdles debut well behind to win readily at Hereford last month. He merely had to be pushed out to score and given the runner-up Maasai Mara has won since the form has a decent look to it. He goes handicapping now and could easily improve again so gets the vote to turn over the favourite Nordic Tiger. The latter won impressively at Wincanton and escapes a penalty for that so looks the danger but the drop back to 2 miles might go against him. Of the rest Quian won at Taunton but that form has been let down since.

Again I’m looking to take on the favourite with WRECKLESS ERIC making plenty of appeal. He went down less than a length to a good yardstick in Valadon on hurdles debut and if improving should go one better here. He was still green last time so is expected to be a lot sharper here and he could be a decent prospect for Ben Pauling. Knight Of Allen bumped into Liari at Aintree and with more to come does still look the danger but he is short enough in the betting and I wouldn’t have that much between them. The Ron Do Ron makes his debut for Gary Moore but unless hugely supported I think he’ll improve for the experience.
