JAZZ KING made a winning start to life over fences at Ludlow in March last year before subsequently changing hands from Sam Thomas to Alastair Ralph for 40,000 pounds. A 6lb rise may underestimate the authority of that performance and the eight-year-old has more upside to him compared to a lot of his rivals. Ladronne didn't stay the trip in the North Yorkshire Grand National at Catterick, but the 10-year-old has been in decent form without getting his head in front this season and he is more than capable of bouncing back. Tupelo Mississippi and Fete Champetre head the remainder.

KNIGHT OF ALLEN sets a decent standard based on his second to Liari at Aintree in December as that form was recently boosted by the winner landing the Scottish Triumph Trial at Musselburgh last weekend. The drop in class will help and it would be a surprise to see him taste defeat. Wreckless Eric is a player based on his Newbury second, while Rockola's bumper efforts give her every chance of being in the mix.

PENTLAND HILLS, who completed a clean sweep of the 2019 Cheltenham/Aintree juvenile hurdle crowns, hasn't stood much racing over the last couple of seasons but proved he retains plenty of enthusiasm with a good second-placed finish at this level over course and distance in December. If anything, this is even easier and a return to winning ways could be imminent for the Nicky Henderson-trained nine-year-old. Last-time-out victors Ilanz and Better Getalong are feared most.

Sammy's Guarantee showed the benefit of wind surgery when comfortably landing a novice hurdle over the extended 2m here last month, and she can go well again if coping with the longer trip on her handicap debut. Conversely, Lilting Verse has won over slightly further and cannot be ruled out. Nevertheless, the vote goes to KAY TARA TARA, who has shown stacks of promise since switching to hurdling and, with the likelihood of more to come, the Alan King-trained mare looks well worth chancing.

BETTERFOREVERYONE found only the progressive Fenland Tiger too strong over 3m2f here last month, so any improvement could see Alan King's charge go one better off an unchanged mark. Horacio Apple's failed to back up December's Bangor romp when finishing a distant third at Sedgefield 27 days ago, but the addition of first-time cheekpieces might give him a boost. Others to note include Pearly Island and Tom Cody.

In an open event, it might pay to side with MY FRIEND SEAN. Tom Lacey's charge didn't show much across his three qualifying runs but moves into handicaps off a potentially workable mark and it would come as no surprise were he to step forward. Sanitiser travelled powerfully into contention at Kempton before weakening late on, and he is worth a second look on his return from an 87-day absence. Common Acclaim is also noted.
