Make Clear is respected under a 5lb penalty but preference goes to the Mark Usher trained BOOM BOOM POW (best priced at 3/1) who ran well to finish 2nd here last time off the same mark. The four-year-old filly has run well on her previous four AW starts with form figures of 2272 including when only beaten 2 ¼ lengths when 7th on her penultimate start.

Boom Boom Pow finished 2nd over 6f last time in a first time visor shaping like this drop down in trip to 5f would suit and she is well drawn in Stall 3 to get a prominent position. Joe Fanning takes over on board which is a positive at this track and she should gain her second career success.

None of the five runners in this 0-68 handicap arrive in the best recent form so preference goes to the only course and distance winner in the field WADACRE GRACE (best priced at 11/4). The Charlie Johnston trained five-year-old has run well on both of her starts at this track including a 3rd placed finish off a mark of 69 and a victory off a mark of 67.

Wadacre Grace ran well to finish 3rd and 2nd at Wolverhampton in December off marks of 69 and 68 and she has now dropped back down to a mark of 67 following a below par performance at Kempton. She is now back down to her last winning mark of 67 and she should prove hard to beat back at Chelmsford.

This looks a weak 0-60 handicap and it looks a good opportunity for H KEY LAILS (best priced at 9/4) to get back to winning ways. The Michael Attwater trained four-year-old won twice on the AW when trained by Craig Lidster and has been running consistently well this year at this track. She finished 2nd by a neck over this course and distance last time off a mark of 56 and runs here off only a 1lb higher mark.

The John Butler pair Split Evens and Struck Gold look the main dangers but are hard to predict and H Key Lails should prove hard to beat if repeating his run here last time.
