GYTO Friday Notebook Double

This looks a good opportunity for the progressive BRIGHT to notch up another win. He has won two of his last three and showed a good attitude to get on top late on just his second start in handicap company last month. That win came over this C&D and just a 2lb rise doesn’t look enough to stop him going in. Even in defeat on penultimate start he clocked a good speed figure so he looks the type who has a bigger performance in him. Muscika is a 10-year-old now but still has to be respected in current form. I do think Ice Cool Harry might pose a greater threat but he does need to settle to give himself a chance of finishing the race.

The only horse in winning form in this race is SOMETHING TO DO and he might prove the answer. He missed just half a length at Wolverhampton up to a mile and a half for the first time and then backed that up with another big run over that trip at Kempton. That form with Amiwithani is very solid so it was no great surprise to see him improve trying a mile and a quarter for the first time at Lingfield last week. He is unexposed and with Grace McEntee claiming a valuable 3lb looks sure to go well again. Dire Wolf won on penultimate start and then needed a stronger gallop over a mile last time so could bounce back and be the danger.
