A fascinating puzzle to solve here but I can’t wait to see BLAZING KHAL back in action. He defied a 279-day absence to make a winning return a couple of years ago and then overcame an even longer layoff to take this last year. He was far from disgraced in the Stayers Hurdle at Cheltenham when last seen and this looks a good starting point for him again. He is lightly raced for an 8yo and seems to have plenty going for him. Ashdale Bob is second in the betting and he has fitness on side but he is on a lengthy losing run now and I think Hiddenvalley Lake will emerge as a greater threat. He fell when warming to the task over fences on reappearance and back over hurdles here in testing ground will likely run a nice race.

This should be a great chance for FUN FUN FUN to resume the winning groove. She was impressive on debut over hurdles bolting up at Thurles back in November and then looked unlucky not to follow up at the same venue making a horrendous error at the last with the race at her mercy. She is obviously improving all the time and it is interesting that they have sent her here with Daryl Jacob getting the leg up. The danger looks to be Favour And Fortune who is also going the right way. He bolted up at Hereford and then followed up at Wetherby before bumping into Jango Baie at Aintree. With more to come he should ask a few questions of the favourite at least.
