Aviles is interesting in first time cheekpieces following a wind operation but preference instead goes to PRINCE QUALI (best priced at 13/8) who ran well to finish 2nd last time at Wincanton. The Robert Walford trained seven-year-old won four times when trained in France before finishing well beaten when 5th over hurdles on his stable debut following 602 days off the track.

Prince Quali ran much better when 2nd by ½ length at Wincanton last time over fences off a mark of 114. The handicapper has only raised him 1lb for that effort which is fair and he should prove hard to beat with Harry Kimber taking off a handy 3lbs.

Both Conquredalofeurope and VAL DANCER (best priced at 5/4) come into this race following victories last time with preference going to the latter who bids for a hat-trick of wins. The Mel Rowley trained seven-year-old finished 3rd on his reappearance on his chasing debut before winning by 16 lengths in first time cheekpieces at Leicester on his penultimate start.

Val Dancer followed up off an 8lb higher mark at Wetherby last time to make it 2/2 in cheekpieces and a 7lb rise could underestimate this progressive chaser.

BALLYBEEN (best priced at 5/1) is the only one of the four horses in this not coming into the race following a victory but he should gain a well deserved win. The Sam Thomas trained eight-year-old has been running well over fences with form figures of 2223322 including when 2nd on heavy ground by less than a length on his penultimate start. That form has been boosted by the winner Ballycamus winning again since and that rival is now rated 9lbs higher.

The handicapper raised Ballybeen 3lbs for that run up to a mark of 107 where he ran well to finish 2nd at Hereford last time on good ground. This return to softer ground will suit him well and he should run well off the same mark.

Ballybeen - 1pt @ 5/1
