Kamaxos showed a fair level of ability when last seen in 2022 and, off what looks to be a workable mark, Roger Teal's charge warrants respect on his return. That said, preference is for WORD HAS IT, who arrives on the back of a creditable fourth over 2m at Warwick and eased 2lb, he gets the tentative nod. Made For You represents a trainer firmly on the hot list and he too warrants serious consideration.
Prediction : 1st Word Has It 2nd Kamaxos 3rd Made For You

ETALON has made a perfect start to life over fences, notching up two ready victories, and he can make a bold bid to bring up the hat-trick off a 4lb higher mark than his latest Warwick win. Hardy Du Seuil has been running over hurdles on his most recent outings, but he has demonstrated an aptitude for jumping fences in the past and is respected on his return to the larger obstacles. Gunsight Ridge came to grief four from home at Wetherby most recently, but Olly Murphy's gelding has the ability to get involved if his jumping holds up and he can fill the frame.
Prediction : 1st Etalon 2nd Hardy Du Seuil 3rd Gunsight Ridge

Despite seemingly being passed over by Nico De Boinville, it may pay to side with progressive ASTON MARTINI in this competitive affair. Nicky Henderson's five-year-old won in workmanlike fashion over 2m at Lingfield last month and, upped in trip, she gets the nod to come home in front once more. The hat-trick seeking Smiling Getaway also warrants respect on the back of an impressive win over 2m3f at Warwick last month. Point-to-point winner Either Or has solid claims to at least hit the frame after opening her account over hurdles most recently over that same C&D.
Prediction : 1st Aston Martini 2nd Smiling Getaway 3rd Either Or

A convincing winner over C&D in a similar race last month, FARCEUR DU LARGE could have more to come on just his second start for the Jamie Snowden yard. The nine-year-old competed in the Irish Grand National for previous connections, and he can see off last year's winner Broken Halo, who may prefer better ground. Laskalin hinted at a return to form when going well for a long way in the Surrey National, and he cannot be ruled out either.
Prediction : 1st Farceur Du Large 2nd Broken Halo 3rd Laskalin

Runner-up to a talented mare trained by Nicky Henderson at Warwick last month, VICTORIA MILANO shaped well that day and dropping back to two miles on soft ground may be ideal for this daughter of Milan. Risk De Pluie produced an upset when seeing off an odds-on favourite at Fontwell last time and he will look to prove that was no fluke on this occasion. Mairis Icon got off the mark in taking fashion at Wincanton from a subsequent winner when last seen and completes the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Victoria Milano 2nd Risk De Pluie 3rd Mairis Icon

C&D winner ANIMAL arrives here on the back of a highly-encouraging second in the Surrey National at Lingfield last month and he can race off the same rating here. Suzy Smith's gelding is in great heart and could be the one to beat. Hudson De Grugy returned from a 223-day break, after undergoing wind surgery, to finish a fair third over an extended 1m7f here last time and is an interesting contender taking a big step up in distance. Special Acceptance is worth a second look in first-time blinkers.
Prediction : 1st Animal 2nd Hudson De Grugy 3rd Special Acceptance

VALENS BRUYEE was mightily impressive when bolting up by nine-and-a-half lengths over 2m at Chepstow last month at a big price. Rebecca Curtis' gelding could have plenty more to offer now that he has got his head in front and is taken to defy his opening mark of 107. Titan Discovery has finished in the top two on each of his last three starts and is likely to be in contention once more, while Wal Buck's is an interesting contender on his handicap debut.
Prediction : 1st Valens Bruyee 2nd Titan Discovery 3rd Wal Bucks
