Wednesday Horse Racing Tips from Steve Ryder

This looks a competitive 0-120 handicap chase but preference goes to SNOWY EVENING (best priced at 7/4) who is 2/2 at this track. The Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero trained seven-year-old has a good record over fences with form figures of 23141 with both of his victories coming at Doncaster. He won by 19 lengths over 3m2f off a mark of 110 before winning by 2 ¾ lengths over 2m3f last time off a mark of 116.
Both of those victories have come on good ground but his first two runs this year came on soft ground so it shouldn’t inconvenience him too much. Toby Wynne takes over on board claiming 3lbs and Snowy Evening should prove hard to beat. 
 

Guillaume was an impressive nine length winner last time but preference instead goes to FAMOSO (best priced at 11/4) whose recent good form includes a course and distance victory. The Matt Sheppard trained eight-year-old won by ½ length here in November before placing at both Taunton and Hereford on his next two starts. He was an impressive 7 ½ length winner at Hereford over 2 miles in January off a mark of 89 before finishing 3rd over this course and distance last time off a mark of 98.

That race was a Class 4 0-110 handicap and Famoso now drops back into a Class 5 0-100 handicap off the same mark. A repeat of his latest effort on soft ground should be good enough to win this weaker contest. 

The Charlie Johnston trained SUFFRAJET (best priced at 7/1) won over this course and distance in December off a mark of 74 and runs here off only a 1lb higher mark. The five-year-old mare won by ½ length that day under Franny Norton before finishing 5th off a mark of 76 at Wolverhampton on her next start. She ran back here over 1m4f last time where she finished 4th weakening late on shaping like this slight drop back in trip would suit. 

Suffrajet runs here off a mark of 75 off top weight in this Class 5 0-75 handicap which represents a drop in class from a Class 4 0-78 handicap last time. Joe Fanning is back on board for the first time since her debut and she should run well with four places available.
