It is extremely hard to oppose MANAMA GOLD, who has already beaten all of her rivals here at least once. Fawzi Nass' filly was an easy winner of the Cocoa Beach over a mile here last month and her performance that day suggested that she may be even better over this longer trip. The well-bred Mizzyaan was far from disgraced when fourth on that occasion, given that it was her racecourse debut. If she improves for that experience, the daughter of Justify could prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Fatinah.

English Rose was a beaten odds-on favourite in the Cape Verdi over a mile here last month, but plenty of promise can still be taken from that neck defeat. However, it is interesting that William Buick jumps ship to stablemate SAPPHIRE SEAS, who makes her UAE debut having won a Listed race over 1m2f at Yarmouth on her most recent outing. The daughter of Frankel remains open to improvement and it would be no surprise to see her prove a class apart here. Stenton Glider is respected but is not certain to relish this step up in trip, so Mystic Pearl is next best.

In a wide-open event, marginal preference is for QUARTIER, who looks set to relish this step up in trip. The three-year-old was only a short-head behind Killer Collect when a never-nearer third in the UAE 2000 Guineas last month and he could easily reverse that form over an extra furlong and a half here. The aforementioned Killer Collect obviously holds strong form claims and is likely to be in the mix once again. Falcon Of Arabia (first) and Auto Bahn (second) fought out the finish of a 7f event at this venue two weeks ago. The quick turnaround is a concern for both and the latter may be more suited by this test.

The consistent Ottoman Fleet is bound to be popular given his connections and his encouraging effort in the Jebel Hatta last month. That said, he is vulnerable at this level and so a chance can be taken on SAN DONATO, who readily accounted for a few of these when winning the Zabeel Mile two starts ago. Doug Watson's gelding was then only narrowly behind Ottoman Fleet in the Jebel Hatta, despite not getting an ideal run. Naval Power has to be of interest on his return, but jockey bookings suggest that he may need the run, while Sean and Marbaan should not be underestimated.

Homespin and Dionysian are arguably the most solid form options, but neither are drawn ideally and the trip is also a big worry for the latter. As a result, preference is for DESERT PEACE, who caught the eye when a staying-on fifth over 7f here a few weeks ago. This step up in trip should play to his strengths and the handicapper looks to have been very generous by dropping him 5lb for that effort. Al Jaddaf is best over this distance and, from stall one, the five-year-old could prove to be the main threat to the selection.

Siskany has an outstanding record at this venue and did well to win when held up off a slow pace in the Al Khail Trophy over C&D a month ago. That said, he was not far in front of Gallerist on that occasion and, while consistent, the level he sets is not insurmountable. NEW LONDON looks worth another go at this distance, having finished second in the St Leger back in 2022 on his sole previous start over this far. The son of Dubawi was beaten at odds-on in the Dubai Millennium last time, but 1m2f was always going to be short of his best and he could surprise his stable companion.

The unexposed Ashger Asser has to be of interest having won over 6f on turf here last week, but he still has to prove himself on this surface. As a result, marginal preference is for BORDER EDGE, who got off the mark over 7f two starts ago and struggled from a wide draw over C&D last time. From stall four, it would be no surprise to see Bhupat Seemar's gelding bounce back to form. Mayaadeen won over 7f at this venue three weeks ago and has a strong form chance, likewise Nomasee and Shanaghai City.

Mostawaa has had excuses for his three defeats so far in the UAE and he is more than capable of going well if able to gain an easy lead. However, Eye On The Prize could take him on early and arrives here on the back of a very solid effort when second over 1m2f two weeks ago. That said, the one who may be underestimated is KAHEALL, who has only had two starts this season and caught the eye when not getting a clear run in a stronger race over C&D last time. With more luck in running, the six-year-old could make his presence felt off a 2lb lower mark. Daahes has to be of some interest back in handicap company, while Ranchero and Chef De Partie complete the shortlist.
